Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS Lens
You will be stunned when experiencing the unprecedented picture quality of the Canon EF 70-200mm F/4L IS USM lens. This lens carries with it the most advanced IS drive to date, yielding an incredible 4-stops of stabilization with panning mode and tripod detection.
Bear in mind that as with other image stabilizers, it is not effective at stopping subjects in motion. The IS drive is very quiet – almost silent. Out of any of the other 70-200mm’s this 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens has the highest image quality. Colour and contrast have been dramatically improved with the new UD glass. The lens has a top-notch focus mechanism and images are very sharp, with no noticeble barrel distortion, vignetting, nor chroma aberrations. Flare is also better controlled than with the non-IS version. The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens can be used indoors and bokeh has improved with the new round eight aperture leaves.

The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM lens is only slightly heavier than the f/4 without the IS, and not nearly as heavy as the f/2.8 IS. It has amazing build quality, with the exterior casing from the zoom ring back to the mount consisting of hard plastic (but it still feels nice) which reduces the weight. The rest of the lens exterior is the typical L-grade metal.

Yes, the f/4L IS USM lens is expensive and the IS, which does not switch off automatically, will use more battery. Another problem is that some photographers may feel the f/4 aperture is not fast. But even after consideration of the few cons, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens still remains a superior buy. Your only regret when buying this lens will be that you didn’t get it sooner!
